A Chic Wedding at Loews Chicago Hotel
A Chic Wedding at Loews Chicago Hotel — The Pierros
Jaclyn and Chris chose Loews Chicago Hotel for their wedding and of all the venues in Chicago, this is one of my favorites! It’s right in the heart of the city with the most incredible skyline views. The venue itself is modern and elegant, and I love the design choices Jaclyn and Chris made.
Let’s dive into this downtown Chicago wedding and I’ll share some of my favorite parts of the venue.
The State Street Bridge to the Loews Chicago Terrace
Elementary school classmates to high school sweethearts, Jaclyn and Chris grew together over years of relationship and history. They have this comfort around each other that was just such a joy to photograph at their wedding!
When Chris decided to propose, he did it with class. Dinner at Smith & Wollensky, a walk along the Chicago River, and then down on one knee on the State Street Bridge with the Chicago lights behind them. Their story was always intertwined with the city of Chicago, and it made Loews Chicago Hotel feel like the perfect place for their wedding.

What Makes Loews Chicago Hotel an Incredible Wedding Venue
The terrace is one of the best ceremony setups in the city, hands down. Loews’ terrace has strong lines, open sky, and plenty of space for larger weddings. Honestly, it’s a photographer’s dream ceremony space! If you’re having a ceremony in Chicago, a city view is one of the best things to incorporate into your day. Natural light and classic decor with fresh florals brought together all the best parts of a Chicago wedding for Jaclyn and Chris’s ceremony.
If you’re considering Loews Hotel, I always recommend reviewing their wedding brochure, which gives you some great insight into their packages, spaces, and more so you can really see how your day can come together! Their team is wonderful at helping you decide on which spaces to use and how to make the indoor and outdoor spaces flow naturally.

An Amazing Last-Minute Decision
When the rain kept coming down for most of the day, it looked like the original, outdoor ceremony plan was out the window. Then, about an hour before the ceremony was set to begin? The clouds broke!
A huge shoutout to the amazing wedding planner Frank Andonoplas of Frank Event Design for being able to adjust last minute and move over 200 chairs from the indoor spot up to the terrace, then reset the florals, dress the aisle, and get everything into place before a single guest noticed. I cannot stress enough how impressive it was to see Frank execute flawlessly under that kind of time restraint, which is exactly why having the right planner and wedding vendors can make the world of difference on your wedding day!
That last-hour light breaking through the Chicago skyline was absolutely stunning. The light after the storm made the ceremony just that much more beautiful and memorable.
Having a vendor team you trust to support you and give you the space to feel present on your day can elevate the look and feel of your entire wedding. Read my favorite wedding day tips that no one tells you about here.
Rooftop Ceremony at Loews Chicago Hotel
Jaclyn and Chris wrote their own vows. Having so much shared history and time together, it was so noticeably personal and touching. Flower girls Emmie and Olive led down the aisle, followed by Buddy, their golden retriever who nearly stole the show! Thanks to the help of handlers at Sit Wag and Wed, Buddy was a perfectly behaved boy, who absolutely crushed his ring bearer duties.
Jaclyn was stunning in her gown by Anna Georgina, beautifully styled by Caroline Shaw of The Wedding Dresser. Her ring was crafted to feature two pink diamonds as a personal nod to her last name.
Anthony Gowder Designs brought the floral vision to life in soft whites, ivory, pale yellow, and blush. The palette was another tribute to Jaclyn's last name, Pink, and was a through-line in florals and design throughout the day.
With the Chicago skyline in late afternoon light, it was such a joy to photograph and tell the story of their ceremony. Documenting the emotions and meaning behind each moment is an essential part of my approach to wedding photography. I truly feel that each couple deserves to be fully present in the moment, and transported back to the feeling of the day every time they look at their gallery.
A Beautiful Chicago Wedding Reception
Their reception was full of personal touches, sentimental moments, and the fun and energy of an all out celebration. One of the sweetest moments has to be when Jaclyn and her grandmother shared a dance together. The warmth and heartfelt joy from that moment spread to everyone throughout the entire reception.
DJ Lee Michaels got everyone out on the floor right and dancing straight away. Jaclyn and Chris even stepped behind the DJ booth for a surprise set, and the dance floor absolutely went off! Custom “Pierro Fan Club” hats were passed out to everyone, a fun and personal touch, and a great gift for their guests to take home.
The cannoli bar was set right off the dance floor and became one of the most-visited spots of the night. It was absolutely a guest favorite and a fun variation on the dessert table. With guests popping in and out of the photobooth or leaving voicemails in the guest book, Jaclyn and Chris have so many amazing memories and keepsakes from their day.
A Loews Chicago Hotel Wedding Day
Jaclyn and Chris's wedding is a great example of what happens when a couple brings real intent to their day. Even with the weather shifting plans, everything came together in a way that felt thoughtful and well-executed. A great team of vendors, family support, and a gorgeous setting elevated it to become an unforgettable wedding at Loews Chicago Hotel.
